About Next Degree

Every article names the office that decides.
An information site about the next step in education.
Next Degree Network explains student aid and the choices around it in plain language: what the FAFSA asks, how to read an offer, which deadlines come first, and what to check before you enroll. We write for people starting college for the first time and for people going back to it, whether after a break, alongside a job or toward a graduate degree.
Next Degree Network is a brand of Prospect Digital LLC, a company registered in Wyoming. We are independent. No college, lender or government office pays us or reviews what we write.
What we do
- Explain each form, account and letter in the order you meet it
- Name the office that decides each question
- Link the official source behind every article
- Text reminders before aid dates, if you ask for them
- Correct articles when the rules change
What we do not do
- File the FAFSA or any other form for you
- Ask for your FSA ID, bank details or Social Security number
- Award, lend, broker or arrange aid of any kind
- Estimate how much aid you will be offered
- Take payment from schools or lenders to send you their way
Four habits behind every article.
One question each
Each article answers one question, so you can read the one you need and stop.
Next step first
We lead with what you can do now, then explain the reasons behind it.
Sources linked
Every article links the official page it relies on, so you can check it yourself.
No figures
Aid amounts change every year. We leave them to the offices that publish them.
Want a reminder before each date?
Tell us your state and your stage, and we will text you ahead of the aid dates that apply to you.
