What we collect
Reading the site needs no account and no personal details. If you sign up for deadline texts, we collect your first and last name, email address, mobile number, state and the stage you choose. As a record of your consent we also keep the time you sent the form, the page it came from, your IP address and your browser type.
We never ask for your FSA ID, Social Security number, tax returns or bank details. Keep them to yourself, including when you write to us.
How we use it
We use your details to send the reminders and messages you asked for, to answer you when you contact us, and to keep evidence of your consent. They are not used for any other purpose.
Your mobile number and text consent
Your mobile information will not be shared with any third party for marketing purposes. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All of the categories above exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Reply STOP to any message to stop texts. The rest of the text message rules are in the SMS terms.
How long we keep it
We keep your sign-up while you want deadline texts. When you ask us to close it, we delete your details within thirty days, apart from the record of your consent and your opt-out, which we keep for as long as we may need to show them.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us for a copy of your details, ask us to correct them or ask us to delete them, by email or phone. We answer within thirty days. If the law where you live gives you further rights, we will honor them.
Security
Information sent through our form travels encrypted and is kept on systems with limited access. No system is perfectly secure, which is one reason we collect so little.
Children
Deadline texts are meant for adults and for students who sign up with a parent’s or guardian’s permission. We do not knowingly collect details from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes too. If a change affects details you have already given us, we will tell you first.
